Mandated Reporter Training is Now Due

Please make sure your adult volunteers have taken the training.

We have been conditionally approved by the California Department of Justice and are awaiting full approval which is expected to take a few more weeks. We are expecting to receive our Nevada Area Council ORI code which you will need for your LiveScan (fingerprinting) service soon.


Your District Executive will keep you posted. Please take the time now to ensure that your adult volunteers have taken the necessary training required by California law.

We DO NOT YET have a “ORI” code for the Nevada Area Council for the Live Scan Service. This means you won't be able to get fingerprinted until we have our ORI code. Please contact your District Executive for questions or details.

This will be required in addition to Scouting's Youth Protection Training (YPT) as it has Scouting-specific information.

Dare To Rebuild

The Nevada Area Council will be working with Plumas County Environmental Health to determine the next steps needed to get started on removing dangerous materials from Camp Fleischmann. This is not a simple process, it is very detailed which includes soil sampling as well as removing debris from camp.  Until this crucial first step is completed any action at camp in terms of rebuilding is on hold.  If you are interested in serving on a committee related to the rebuilding, please click on the Rebuild link below.

Sierra Nevada District's Awards Dinner
All Sierra Nevada District volunteers are invited to celebrate our 2021 Sierra Nevada District volunteers.  Dinner will be held at the Lady of the Snows Church at 1138 Wright St in Reno on March 25th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
