Attention All California Units and Volunteers
LiveScan Fingerprinting is now available
We are happy to announce that we have been approved to receive LiveScan information and you can now visit your closet California LiveScan location to get your fingerprints done for the Nevada Area Council. Some locations require an appointment so be sure to read their website for their requirements.
Be sure to bring the document with you for fingerprinting found on the California Scouting website that is specific for the Nevada Area Council. Please contact your District Executive for details if you have any questions.
Each Unit please make sure your adult volunteers have taken the training.
Mandatory Reporter Training- the California Mandatory Reporter training is due from every active adult volunteer in Scouting in California. Please see www.californiascouting.org for a description of the new law. The full description can be found here Volunteer Compliance Policy
Mandated Reporter training is now due and can be accessed with this link
https://mandatedreporterca.com/training/volunteers. This training will take approximately 2 hours. Please print the certificate at the completion of the course.
Volunteers will need to upload the Mandated Reporter training certificate upon completion to the Nevada Area Council training report site. https://californiascouting.org/training/.
Click Here for the Background Check Consent form giving your permission to allow California Department of Justice to do a background check. This is required. Please upload this document to the above link as well.
Be sure to use the form that has Nevada Area Council information prepoluated in the form and ORI code of AR888 for LiveScan applications to submit to the fingerprinting facility. California Scouting website
This will be required in addition to BSA's Youth Protection Training (YPT) as it has Scouting-specific information.
