COVID-19 Updates

(Last Updated: 4/22/2020)

This summer won't look like all the summers that have come before or any of the other summers that will come after. What we do know is that camp plays a vital role in the lives of our Scouts and Scouters. At this time, we are taking steps to determine how we can best serve our Scouting community this summer.

Unfortunately, Camp Fleischmann will not be in operation this summer, but we are currently considering opportunities to serve our Scouting community in ways we have not previously considered. We will anxiously await a vibrant experience at Camp Fleischmann in 2021 when our Camp Fleischmann family will welcome everyone with open arms to experience all of the adventures Camp Fleischmann has to offer!

For those that have planned to spend this summer with us at Camp Fleischmann, Cub Scout Resident Camp, we will be working to get you a full refund. Refund inquiries may be made to ap@nevadabsa.org.

Calling all ye noble Cubs...

Travel with us to the medieval times of Cub-A-Lot, in the jolly hamlet of Camp Fleischmann.

Arrive at the hamlet as a humble Squire.  As you journey through trials and adventures, you will leave as a Noble Knight of Cub-A Lot!

Hearty feasts and banquets will be enjoyed at the great village dining hall.

Heroic skills will be put to the test.  Acts of courage and deeds of honorable service will be performed during thou days.  Banners will be hoisted high in honor!  Will thou be the next great Archer of camp, as was Robin Hood?

Evenings in the realm will have much merriment and the spinning of yarns.

Come, and join our merry band of Scouts and Adventurers, as we Cub A Lot!

What to Expect at Camp Fleischmann Cub Scout Resident Camp

ACCOMODATIONS
BYOT (bring your own tent), sleeping bag, and anything else you need to set up your living quarters! You will be assigned a campsite at check-in.

FOOD SERVICE
Eat meals provided by a specialized camp catering company. Varied and nutritious meals are included in your camp fees. Scouts may wish to supplement their meals with snacks and s’mores fixings. Each campsite has a campfire ring and will be shared by several Packs.

All food MUST be stored in your vehicles at night. Camp Fleischmann is in bear country, and bears do occasionally pass through camp. Please do not leave snacks out since it only encourages animals to stay in camp longer. Our camp store also carries candy, soda pop, ice cream, and more.

ACTIVITIES

Water fun
Lay in the sun or swim on a warm afternoon on the shore of Fleischmann Lake. The waterfront is perfect for snorkeling, paddling a canoe, and kicking back in one of the sailboats from our fleet. All  campers are subject to the same swimming requirements that Cub Scouts experience. Tests are taken to determine non-swimmer, beginner, or swimmer classifications. Safety is a top priority at Cub camp!

Shooting ranges
Always popular are the archery range and BB guns. Camp provides the equipment and instruction. We even have bows perfectly sized for the little ones. DO NOT bring your own equipment or ammo to camp.

Climbing walls
Camp Fleischmann is home to some of the tallest outdoor camp climbing walls in the West and they will be open for the brave and willing. We start you on small, easy walls, and some work up to ringing the gong from the platform of our huge tower. You can climb with a friend or race your family members to the top.

Arts & crafts
Spend hours in our craft area expressing your creativity with the items at hand. In the evening, have a campfire and invite your neighbors. Some evenings, we host a camp wide campfire or other activity. Check the schedule for daily camp activities.

Explore the surroundings
We are only minutes from great sport fishing at Lake Almanor and are even closer to the back entrances of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Use Camp Fleischmann has home base and venture out to experience beautiful Northern California.

Activity Fees
The majority of camp activities are included in the overnight camp fees. There are a few special activities that are not included in the general camp fee that you may want to plan for. These activities are:

  • Shooting rifles
  • Select craft projects

THE RULES
The rules are few at Cub Scout Resident Camp. The Scout Oath and Law are applicable at all times at Scout Camp, and we have a few other guidelines for your safety. You can make a copy of the Leader-Scout-Parent Guide that is posted here on the website.

  1. You must check in and out of camp! Do not select a site and set up, you may be asked to move!
  2. Alcohol is not permitted.
  3. Pets are not permitted.
  4. Bicycles are not permitted at Cub Resident Camp due to the environmental impact on the trails and hillsides.

Cub Scout Resident Camp is the perfect place to enjoy the rugged, beautiful outdoors and countless activities with your favorite people—your family. Family camp is a place to relax, hike, swim, enjoy nature, and many other exciting activities at just a fraction of the cost of a hotel or resort vacation. Family camp is held concurrently with Cub and Webelos adventure camps, so Scouts can work on advancements as well.

Registration is open to the families of anyone registered with the Boy Scouts of America (Tigers, Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Varsity Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explorers, and Adults). Friends may attend with the family as a group, but must arrive and depart with the BSA family they are joining.
