Wilderness First Aid

The Nevada Area Council has partnered with Sierra Rescue International to provide Wilderness First Aid training for Scout leaders who will be attending Philmont Scout Ranch in 2018.

Wilderness First Aid is a required certification for Philmont adult leaders who will be the first responders while on the various Philmont trecks.  Philmont requires at least two (2) crew members be Wilderness First Aid certified and two (2) crew members be CPR certified.  The training requirements can be shared by two persons with both certificates or it can be spread out over four participants if desired.

The Wilderness First Aid course provided by Sierra International will certify participants in both disciplines.

The cost for participation is $185 per each and the total class size is limited to 12 participants.

The class will be provided at the Boy Scout Council office located at 500 Double Eagle Ct, Reno Nevada.
